Health Checks

Broadbeach Medical Centre & Gold Coast Women's Health offers comprehensive health checks for patients in the Broadbeach area and surrounds.

45-49 Year Old Health Assessment

Once you reach mid to late 40's, you can start to experience a new set of health challenges. This is why a 45-49 year old health assessment can help to identify potential chronic conditions early and reduce the risks.

Am I eligible?
If you are aged 45-49 with a valid Medicare card you may be eligible for a once-off bulk-billed health assessment. To be eligible for this assessment, your GP would need to identify at least one risk factor. Risk factors are based on:

  • family history of chronic disease
  • blood pressure, cholesterol, or blood sugar levels
  • weight and diet
  • history of smoking
  • alcohol intake
  • exercise habits

Talk to your doctor if you have any concerns to find out if you are eligible for this assessment.

Seniors Health Assessment (Ages 75yrs+)

A seniors health assessment provides an opportunity for your GP to get a broader baseline of your overall physical, mental and social health. This means that we can support your goals to stay healthy, independent and ready for the future. Support from additional health care providers may be arranged as required.

This health assessment is a bulk-billed appointment for anyone aged 75 years or over, and is generally performed every year together with your doctor and the practice nurse.

Veterans' Health Check

"The Veterans’ Health Check is a comprehensive health check designed specifically for veterans. It provides an opportunity to access early intervention care and appropriate referrals when you need it. It is an opportunity to establish a relationship with your GP in order to manage your health and enjoy better health outcomes both during and in the years after your transition to civilian life." - dva.gov.au
