Born and bred in Malaysia, Dr Derek graduated from Otago University in New Zealand in 2011. Dr Derek recognised his passion for general practice where he strives to provide high quality, patient centred lifetime care. He enjoys all aspects of general practice, and has particular interest in men's health, children's health, preventative healthcare, and endocrinology.

Outside of work, Derek enjoys playing classical guitar, working on his basketball skills, keeping his 2 young children entertained or watching Korean drama series with his wife.

Dr Ngieng is trilingual, speaking fluent English, Mandarin, and Bahasa.
